Keep in mind that the sneak peek prices will be slightly different from our local prices (by a couple of cents). Check the paper ad or publix.com to get exact local pricing.
Reminders about our local store policies:
The key to the game is buying the sale items. The BEST deals are the B1G1s. My list is mostly B1G1, essential items and sale items. I buy fruits/veggies/meats that are on sale that week. These sale items are already GREAT deals--Add coupons and they are AWESOME buys!
Locals(the following applies to Fairhope and Orange Beach locations):
*Our local Publix ads usually run Wednesday-Tuesday. Holiday ads vary.
*Sneak Peeks are always subject to change.

Freezing Tips for Basics
While having a discussion about freezing cheese on the Facebook fan page, this previous BB post came to mind. Check out this information that I found on the web awhile back. I do freeze shredded cheese and butter.
Freezing items is a great way to take advantage of cheap prices on the basics-bread, milk, cheese & butter. Stockpile those staples!
Milk can be frozen for up to three months safely. Shake well when ready to use.
Butter can be frozen six to nine months.
Cheese can last up to three months in freezer.
Bread (depending on how well it is wrapped) can last a couple of weeks.
Just good tidbits to know when a sale comes along on these basics. Which basics do you freeze?

Eating Green & Saving Green: Organics on a Budget
Time and time again I have been asked to do a post on buying organic foods on a budget. Let's face it--IT'S NOT EASY BEING GREEN. Buying organic foods without a focus on savings or a shopping strategy can easily blow a family's budget. My goal with this post is to show readers how to buy the organic foods that they love while still saving money.
More and more people are buying organic. Organic companies and grocery stores are taking note of this. Grocery stores will often have organic deals in the sales ad(Publix). My direction would be to buy organic items that are on sale and use coupons(when available). Organic coupons are a rare find in the Sunday inserts--Your best bet is to print and request organic coupons from sites like the ones listed below.
Sources for Organic Coupons:
*Mambo Sprouts also sign up for the Mambo Newsletter with coupons here.
* Organic Grocery Deals
* Publix Greenwise (sign up for the Greenwise magazine which includes coupons)
* Check out manufacturer’s sites too!
Sign up to receive their newsletters.
Email/call to request coupons (always ask when you can call back for more coupons).
Most of the sites below offer printable coupons.
