A LITTLE ABOUT THE MOM BEHIND THE BUGGY
Welcome! I’m a stay at home mom to two little girls located in Mobile, Alabama. I began blogging in 2007 before my second child was born. Prior to being a stay at home mom, I worked in the non-profit industry as a development representative and as a pharmaceutical representative. In my free time, I have always enjoyed volunteer work. I get satisfaction out of knowing that I have helped another person. The Bargain Buggy is a spin off of that desire.
In July 09, The Bargain Buggy was created to give my friends and family a peek in the buggy. My vision was simple-to share my savings with my friends and family. My hope was that the pictures and savings would encourage them to join in as well. Little did I know that there would be such a local interest. I feel really blessed to be able to share this blog with you. I have met some really amazing people since this entire blog came about. My readers encourage me. In addition, the blog is like a journal for me to track my savings. I enjoy looking back at all that I have saved.
So how did I get into couponing?This is probably the most commonly asked question. I have not always couponed/saved/been smart with my money. With the economy a mess and a family to raise, something had to give. I was faced with going back to work…or what?!? Couponing fell in my lap when my friend was telling me how she got toothpaste free using coupons. Everyone used it–why was I the fool paying for it?!? Done then and there. I was determined to learn the ins and outs of couponing. I read anything and everything I could find, studied websites–pretty much taught myself. Quick learner and pretty computer savvy. I started with the drugstores in March 09. Within 3 weeks, I was determined to find those amazing Publix deals. Slashing my grocery/toiletry bill in over half was just the break I needed. Couponing allows me to save as much as I would make at a part time job…The BEST part–I get to stay home with my babies!
